When it comes to fashion we all know about the drool worthy sense of fashion in Italian women. Their impeccable sense in fashion is something we always look up to. And why would it not be so? All the leading designer lines are from Italy such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino, Versace, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Laura Biagiotti, Roberto Cavalli, Brioni and Bottega Veneta. Its not just in their clothes, Italian beauty is also something we would always love to look up to. Leading celebrity artists of all times like Monica Bellucci, Caterina Murino, Sophia Loren,  Laura Antonelli, Alyssa Milano, Claudia Cardinale, are  a few who show off Italian beauty  to the world.

Italian beauty is so sought after like that of Sophia Loren’s, that even at the age of 70 people wanted to know her beauty secrets. When it comes to Italy it rounds to one and main ingredient and that is none other than the widely found Olive Oil. Though it’s just one ingredient it is self-sufficient in giving you all the beneficiaries required for a smooth, glowing, youthful look even at 60+.

Two weeks back I was in Italy and I fell totally in love with this place. You can see all the expression of that love displayed throughout my previous post where I discussed about the Winter Care Essentials I used in Italy. I was not fascinated by the beauty of nature alone for I could not help but notice the how lovely and flawless the stylish Italian women looked. So I decided, now that’s how I want to look. I am sure you would like to be smooth skinned like them too. I have mentioned a few facial packs used by the Italians which you can incorporate into you beauty care regime.

ITALIAN FACIAL CARE

MOISTURIZER

Ingredients:

Olive oil

Procedure:

  1. Use all over body
  2. Better results when used right out of the shower

My Personal Verdict:

  1. Using olive oil right out of the shower has amazing effects on skin. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and well moisturized.
  2. Olive oil is really thick and hence some of you may not be comfortable in using it as an everyday moisturizer. No worries, you can always mix this with a lighter oil like coconut oil or even water to reduce the thick consistency of olive oil.

Benefits:

  1. Acts as an emollient and hence is great for dry skin people
  2. Great moisturizer leaving soft smooth skin
  3. Has antioxidants hence is a great anti-ageing agent
  4. Can be used as makeup remover

FACIAL

Ingredients:

  1. Blood orange
  2. 2tsp of Olive oil

Procedure:

  1. Mix the juice of one blood orange along with its grated skin and add to the olive oil
  2. Massage into face and neck
  3. Rinse off with cool water

Benefits:

    1. Blood oranges contain antioxidants and vitamin C thus helping skin to be exfoliated and plumped up.

  1. Olive oil is power house of antioxidants which provides anti-ageing benefits.

ITALIAN BODY CARE

BODY SCRUB

Ingredients:

  1. 4tbsp Olive oil
  2. ½ cup Sugar/Sea salt

Procedure:

  1. Mix olive oil with sugar or sea salt
  2. Gently scrub over face, neck, body

My Personal Verdict:

I used sugar rather than salt as salt has a drying effect on skin so those of you with dry skin stay away from salt.

Benefits:

This is a great moisturizing and bleaching scrub that will make you look younger when used regularly.
